Scap is a robot that detects and avoids obstacles by using its two feelers. When an obstacle is detected, its one motor spins forward while the other motor spins backward, resulting in a change of direction to either left or right depending on which feeler was touched. The speed can also be adjusted by turning a variable resistor either to the right for less speed, or to the left for more speed. The variable resistor does not affect the speed of the turning motion, letting it avoid obstacles as fast as possible. Scap can also detect obstacles even when its forward motion is switched off, avoiding the touch from an animal or a person.
