Field report

Oslo Science Fiction Festival was the first event I attended in, and the first time I got to wear my Tusken Raider costume out in the public. When I got to the building it was held in, it didn't seem as if much was happening there, and I didn't see any of my fellow 501st members either, so I started walking around in the building and later met up with TK-6215 who told me that the room we got was down the hall on the second floor, so I brought my Tusken Raider costume up there and got amazed when I saw all the Stormtrooper and Sandtrooper armor that I also took photos of since it was the first time I had seen armor like this in real life. A while later, all of the 501st members walked down to the first floor to fix up our stand, and after doing so, we went back up to change into our costumes. I was the first one to get the costume on, and having to wait in the room for a while started getting very hot, but eventually the other troopers were done, and we all went down to the first floor where we walked around, scaring people and pointing our weapons towards them and things like that. After having walked around there for some while, it was time for us all to go into the auditorium where TD-6237 was about to hold a presentation. The Sandtroopers came in through one door, and me and the other Stormtroopers came in through another door on the other side of the auditorium and walked down to the stage. All the troopers stood still, but I was acting stupid as a Tusken Raider should. After the presentation was over, we walked back to the main hall and trooped around some more. Some breaks were taken by all of us as the costumes were very hot and we needed something to drink. At one point when taking a break, me and TK-6215 swapped our helmets and walked around the hallway with them, and an American man thought it was really funny and took many of photos of us, having our arms over each others shoulders. Also this same American man talked to me many times and took photos of my costume, saying that it was really good and looked as good as the ones in the movies, so I felt pretty good about my costume after that. Later we trooped around some more, and lots of people were taking photos of us, and a woman even filmed me for a very long time while I was playing around as a Tusken Raider. Some while after that, TD-6237 started signing autographs on his own comic books called "M", so lots of people came to get his autograph and took photos of him and all the other troopers along with myself, some even wanting to take a photos posing next to me. A while after that, a costuming contest started, and many other people came with costumes and dresses, walking on a mini catwalk, but I didn't stick around to see who won. I got permission to leave the troop at 7 O' clock, so I packed my costume and talked to two of the Stormtroopers for a while, then left the place with lots of nice memories from my first costuming troop ever with the 501st Legion, and I'm glad it wasn't such a big event when it was my first one.
