The assembly of the bodysuit
For the bodysuit of this costume, I wanted to buy a high quality two piece bodysuit instead of trying to make one myself out of old sweaters and other clothing as I wasn't sure if I could pull it off yet, but I did want to make at least one part of the bodysuit, so I chose to custom make the neckseal. Also since I've seen that Stormtroopers are meant to wear a balaclava, I wanted to buy one for my bodysuit as well.
For the fabric of the neckseal, I used a shiny black fabric that wasn't really meant to be black shiny fabric at all, but very shiny gold fabric, but as the other side of it was black, it didn't matter anyway.

Also they say that it's the inside that counts, and the inside of this is GOLD!
The fabric was stretched out over a piece of foam and secured in place with pins.
I started sewing in all the stripes with a very old sewing machine that barely worked at all anymore.
Half the stripes sewn in, and the sewing machine is barely hanging in there.
And so fate would have it that I got to finish all the stripes before the sewing machine totally screwed itself.
Fortunately there was yet another even older sewing machine from the 1800's or something that worked just fine for finishing the edges of the neckseal.
For the base of the neckseal, I used a piece of rubberized fabric from an old raincoat.
After an opening was cut through the back of the base, many small section pieces were made for where the neckseal will be sewn onto the base.
After figuring out that cutting away 25% of the base would give the proper shape for the neck, the base was pinned onto the inside of the neckseal.
Once again using the really really old sewing machine, I sewed the neckseal onto its base.
After that was done, it all started to look more like a Stormtrooper neckseal.
Now the jumpsuit for my Stormtrooper costume is finally finished and ready for armor coverage, or a big night on the town. The neckseal turned out very good too, even though I had to finish it with a very old sewing machine. Feel free to use any ideas from this tutorial, and good luck preparing your own Stormtrooper bodysuit.

The only Velcro I had available at the time was blue, but since the Velcro will be hidden in the end anyway, I didn't care.
Once again the really really old sewing machine worked really well as you can see in this composite photo.
The Velcro on the other side was sewn onto the edge in an overlapping way to make the whole neckseal longer.

This end is equipped with the hook Velcro that pointed out from the bodysuit so that it will not attach to it.
Once closed, you can see the overlapping Velcro that in the end gives more gap between my neck and the neckseal.
These are the boxes of the jumpsuit parts, the top to the left and the bottom to the right.

The manufacturer decided to give these products the name "Super underwear".

Ohh yeah!
Rolling out one of the black fabric blobs from inside the boxes revealed a very tight cotton sweater that will be used as the top of the bodysuit.
And rolling out the other blob revealed a pair of tight cotton pants that will make anyone look strange wearing these.
This photo is not meant to show you anything you don't want to see, but really to show you how well the top of the bodysuit was made to shape itself over that thing you really don't want to see.
Even though this box looks like it could contain a tube of hemorrhoid cream, this Balaclava is not a liquid in a tube, but is made of a fabric very similar to the jumpsuit.
At first I thought I had to modify the Balaclava to make it open from my forehead down to my chin as the drawing on the box showed an opening for the eyes only, but it was stretchy enough to be stretched to any position I would like.
With all the assembled gear on, this is what is meant to protect a Stormtrooper from the vacuum of space, but I'd prefer not to try that with mine.
